i. About

I work at the intersection of cancer biology, molecular medicine, and clinical care — bridging mechanism with the questions clinicians actually ask.

I am an MD candidate at the University of Münster, pursuing additional research training in Experimental Medicine alongside the medical curriculum.

From 2022 to 2023 I was a Visiting Student Researcher in Hani Goodarzi's lab at UCSF, supported by the Boehringer Ingelheim Fonds MD fellowship. I studied RNA-binding proteins (RBPs) in breast cancer and designed and ran CRISPR-based functional screens related to metastasis biology — work that is now the basis of my doctoral thesis. My methods have been primarily wet-lab: cell culture, molecular cloning, PCR, single-cell RNA-seq, and RNA-seq library preparation.

I am drawn to research that connects molecular mechanisms to disease progression — and ultimately to patient care.

ii. Currently

  • Finishing the final clinical year of medical school in Münster (Praktisches Jahr).
  • Writing up my doctoral thesis on RNA-binding proteins in breast cancer metastasis.
  • Pursuing additional research training in Experimental Medicine.
  • Looking ahead to residency and continued translational research.
